york and boston. also temperatures in the 40s. that's going to be it for the daytime highs. we see here, cooler air, another cold front. 48 will be the high on thursday. 54 in atlanta. so from the north to the south, much cooler temperatures happening for many locations. new orleans still in the mid-60s. orlando 80 degrees. you can find some warmth around the country but it is more likely than not to be in florida this time of the year and at times warmer weather in the southwest. phoenix 82 by friday. and then a lot of people will head out of town, maybe you have the full week off forring thissinging this next week. so any travel problems, looks like mainly on the west coast here from sacramento and san francisco and parts of the southeast will have a few showers, as well. on sunday, similar story here. a low off shore. we will watch to see what that the turns in to, but a chance of showers in the mid-atlantic. weekdays on the weather channel you can wake up with al. ♪ you can help othersink along the way. ♪ ♪ a portion of every bottle that they sell goes to fight ♪ ♪ breast

, boston almost 50-mile-an-hour wind gusts, 38-mile-an-hour wind gusts in newark. and the snowfall amounts, four inches in stony brook, flushing, seven inches. new york stained newark both setting records, north haven, connecticut, 12 inches of snow. and berkeley heights, new jersey, getting seven and a half inches of snow now. look at the live radar, you can see is making its way up the coast, still snow being dealt with throughout parts of new england. we're looking at wet weather up the coast of new england as well and we have got a lot of wind to deal with, talking about the wind. we are talking about wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour out on the cape. we expect to see wind advisories along the coastline of new england and nantucket, looking at high wind warnings and with wind gusts from washington, d.c. up to boston, anywhere from 15 to 30 miles per hour, probably be some airport delays as well. the good news is, it's just about over. that's the latest. we have got your local forecast coming up in just a little bit. now, let's go back inside to matt. >> all right, al, thank you very m

to be walking down main street inri roslindal in boston saying thank you to the community. >> this is the third year you've done it. have you seen tangible results? is it actually helping beyond the one day? >> i think we've seen an increase in sales and we've seen a carry over of people really understanding the importance of small businesses. i mean, this has real become a movement. you have over 300 community organizations that have supported small business saturday, elected officials in all 50 states. the senate passed a unanimous resolution. how often does that happen in washington? >> that's right. >> and last year we had the president and his two daughters shopping at a local bookstore in washington so i think what's important is, this is not just about small business saturday. it's really the kickoff for the holiday season and a kickoff for support of small business saturd saturday. >> across the administration you're going to be seeing this again. many will be out shopping. many in my cabinet already have plans, and you probably have plans too. >> absolutely. i'll be out tomorrow, guys.

they had turkey chili for lunch what went on in that room? >> i was up here in boston, spoke to some romney advisers who described it as a good meeting, important meeting for both sides to do. this is an awkward looking photo. it is still very tough. the feelings if you're on the romney side of the campaign are still pretty raw. one of the things i was told romney made clear is that he doesn't want to play any part in fiscal cliff negotiations. there was some talk immediately afterwards some of his discussions or ideas on deductions, eliminating some tax deductions could be helpful, but romney made it clear he doesn't want to play a role in those talks. >> david, who would you be with this weekend on "meet the press"? >> talking to timothy geithner, talking about where the negotiations are, where the pain point is for democrats in terms of where they're willing to make cuts, that's an important question for republicans as discussions go forward. >> one of the men at the center of all of this. david gregory, thanks so much, david. >> thanks, willie. >>> let's check the day's other top storie
